An Improved Selected Mapping Scheme with Double Thresholds in OFDM systems
It is well known that orthogonal division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission is spectrally efficient but power inefficient due to the large peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the OFDM signal. Therefore, the detection efficiency of OFDM receiver is very sensitive to the non linear devices used in its signal processing loop, such as Digitalto-Analog Converter (DAC) and High Power Amplifier (HPA), which may severely impair system performance due to induced spectral re-growth and detection efficiency degradation. In this paper, an improved selected mapping scheme with double thresholds was proposed, in which double thresholds was used to select signal vector transmitted. Simulation results show that the presented scheme can achieve better performance than single threshold SLM scheme and extremely reduce the complexity compared with conventional SLM.
