Research on Visual Detection Using Magneto-optic Microscope
As a branch of eddy current detection, magneto-optic microscope is getting wide interest since it is visual in defect detection. Compare to conventional single frequency magnet exciting, square pulse has abundant harmonious and can extract the defect information in different depth with a single test. So a magneto-optic microscope with square pulse exciting appears as an effective method. However, a powerful square pulse is difficult to get. The most common way is that a signal generator following with an amplifier, but the output is easily distorted. In this paper, a novel magnet exciting device is described, which is based on Power Factor Correction (PFC) technology and overcomes the above problem. An experiment has been designed and done. The image acquired with the microscope is processed with Matlab, and the method is evaluated by the result.
