Finding Economic Order Quantity for the Inventory Routing Problem based on Genetic Algorithm

The inventory routing problem (IRP) is a challenging optimization problem to provide timely and effective logistics and distribution services as well as to reduce the cost of the sales process. In this paper, we focus on both intelligent inventory management plans and effective routing policies. The objective is thus to use the genetic algorithm to solve the route arrangement and distribution of products to customers. We propose the economic order quantity (EOQ) to keep inventory cost low and to secure the supply of products. This approach is tested for a computer spare parts logistics management information system project, and the lower logistic costs demonstrate the effectiveness of this proposed method.
