H∞ Robust Control for Doubly Fed Induction Generator Wind Power System

The robust control problem is studied for the variable-speed constant-frequency wind power system based on doubly-fed induction generator. The dynamic model of DFIG is established using field-oriented vector-transformation of the stator and simplified to reduce the order of the controller. A robust rotor voltage controller is designed by H ∞ robust control method, which makes the wind power system realize MPPT control and restrain the external disturbance. The simulation results show that under the uncertainty of parameter variety and unmodeled dynamic and the external disturbance, the controller proposed above can guarantee the rotor speed of DFIG to trace the reference command exactly and make the wind power system achieve the maximum energy from wind.
