Influence of Several Factors on Network Sensor Array Target Orientation

There are wide use demand of networked acoustic sensor array target positioning technology in civilian and military fields, and the study of large aperture arbitrary planar three-element acoustic sensor array target localization is few. Based on the acoustic time delay estimation hyperbolic localization technology, the formula for calculating the azimuth and distance of the target is introduced in this paper. Then, the relation of the target azimuth error and distance error with the time delay estimation error, aperture of the sensor array and the error of the distance between each sensor is analyzed and the azimuth and distance error is calculated. The results show that in the same original error conditions, using large aperture arrays can significantly reduce the azimuth error and distance error. To ensure the target azimuth error be less than 1°, without considering other error conditions, when the array element spacing for 0.3 m, time delay error must below 2.2e-Ss, the array element spacing error must below 1.15e-2m. When the array element spacing for 50 m, time delay error must below 4.6e-3s, the array element spacing error must below 0.99m. To ensure the target distance error less than 1 meter, without considering other error conditions, when the array element spacing for 0.3 m, time delay error must below 6.6e-9s, the array element spacing error must below 1.6e-6m, when the array element spacing for 50 m, time delay error must below 3.0e-4s, the array element spacing error must below 0.072m.
