Measurement Method and Instrument with Multiple Sensors for Parallelism of Rear Beam Tube

This paper presents a method with multiple sampling points and an instrument with multiple sensors for parallelism measurement of the rear beam tube. For the method, twenty four sampling points are arranged in six sections, with four sampling points in each section, which are used to sample the axis characters of the different segments of the rear beam tube, then the parallelism of the both ends to its public axis of the beam tube can be got by calculating the distances of the center points of the sections inside of the tube to the public axis. For the instrument, inductance sensors are arranged according to the said method, and the sensors sampling data are transferred to the computer-aided measurement system, then the data are processed by computer according to the said method. The measuring results using the instrument agreed with the three-coordinate measuring machine. The measurement system analysis suggests that the measurement method is feasible and the instrument is competent for the requirement of fast and high precision measurement of the rear beam tube.
