Application of Ordinary Digital Photography Technology in Data Collection of Similar Material Model Experiment

The observation accuracy requirement of models displacement is very high in similar material model experiment and the existing observation method has many limitations. At present, the image plane coordinate accuracy may reach about O.S pixel after executing distortion detect of digital camera and distortion correction of image point coordinates. The author attempts to observe the displacement of measurement points by use the method of ordinary digital photography in this paper. In this experiment, independent control meshes are installed around each measurement points and the single point digital photography will be carried out firstly. Then the image processing for digital images will be conducted in digital mapping software and the image coordinates of control meshes corner points and measurement points. At last, the actual coordinates of each point in independent control meshes will be calculated after executing coordinate transformation and distortion correction. This experiment indicated that ordinary digital photography method is useful and the observation accuracy of models displacement is high and reliable, especially is suitable for the dynamic displacement monitoring of small deformable body and has application values.
