On-line Wear Monitoring Technology Base on Electrostatic Induction

In order to monitor wear fault on line, an advanced sensor based on electrostatic induction for monitoring wear debris is proposed in this paper. Firstly the structure of the sensor is presented, then the related mathematic model is established for a sensor with the given structure parameters. The frequency response characteristics of the sensor are analyzed. Lastly one experiment platform is built to validate the feasibility of the electrostatic monitoring method. The experiment results show, to some extent, that the electrostatic signal can reflect the relative density of wear debris, and the sensor proposed in this paper can satisfy the primary demand of wear debris on-line monitoring.
