An Empirical Analysis on Research of Small World Based on Bibliometrics and HIST Algorithm
In this paper, data are acquired from WOS, bibliometrics analysis and HITS algorithm are used in order to understand the scientific development in the research field of small world. At the same time, the theory of small world is penetrated in this paper, just like co-word analysis and co-author analysis which are the phenomenon of small world. Prying into and understanding the scientific development of a research field, even a subject, now the scholars could try to use this method both in the macro and micro. Co-word and co-author can reflect the macroscopic outline, but hubs and authorities carl reflect the microscopic details in the scientific field. Using the hub and authority method, it can be seen that in the small world research field, four papers are the most important, which are respectively published by Albert R (2002), Dorogovtsev S N (2002), Newman M E J (2003) and Boccaletti S (2006).
