Correction of Impact Factor and Empirical Study
Journal impact factor was treated as the important indicator to reflect periodical comprehensive influence, but the impact factor itself has produced the inevitable flaws in this process. In order to explore a more suitable journal evaluation indicator, we modified the formula of impact factor and made a comparative analysis of four kinds of impact factor: immediacy index, synchronous impact factor, diachronous impact factor and cumulative impact factor, and collected 16 kinds of library and information field of academic journals from CSSCI as a data source. We analyzed the utility of revised impact factor ,the results the revised showed that impact factor covered more data and the evaluation was broader the revised, impact factor has its advantages.
