Identification and Characterization of Novel Anti-Prelog Carbonyl Reductases Involved in Candida parapsilosis Catalyzing One-Pot Stereoinversion of l-Phenyl-l,2-ethanediol

The NAD(P)H-dependent carbonyl reductases catalyze reduction of a variety of endogenous and xenobiotic carbonyl compounds, including biologically and pharmacologically active substrates. There are considerable interests in the use of carbonyl reductases in the pharmaceutical and fine chemicals industries for the production of chiral alcohols, important building blocks for synthesis of chirally industries for the production of chiral alcohols, important building blocks for synthesis of chirally pure pharmaceutical agents1.
