A 11GHz Differential LNA Integrated with On-Chip Antenna for Wireless Receivers
A fully differential common-source cascode low noise amplifier(LNA) is presented for wireless receivers. The capacitive cross-coupling technique combined with cascode transistor is introduced to enhance LNA gain and reduce noise figure as well as the nonlinearity influence of cascaded transistors. A 2.6mm long onchip folded dipole antenna is integrated with this LNA and co-design is performed for impedance conjugate matching and power transmission. The experimental results by ADS indicate that this LNA, implemented in a 0.18 μm CMOS process, has achieved 4.1dB noise figure and 12dB power gain at 11 GHz. The whole system consumes 24mW under 1.8V supply with 1.9mm2 effective chip area.
