Research and Practice for Safety Engineering Laboratory Program
Lab plays a critical role in training undergraduates ability. Accident prevention is the purpose for the discipline of safety engineering. Based on these, this article analyzes the design consideration for safety engineering labs at the college and university level. This research achieved positive results after being used in teaching practice. The following four parts describe the structure of the lab: the combination of safety management and the psychology of safety behavior; ergonomics; risk assessment; and safety technology. This article makes the argument for more efforts in the following areas of lab construction: safety management and culture; safety behavior; human factors engineering in the promotion of safety; and risk analysis, in order to improve the students competence of scientific experimentation and research. In addition, extra weight (i.e. size and major) should be given according to the background and characteristics of the specific industry.
