The Straegies of Installed User-base in Two-Sided Market: An Analysis of the E-money Industry in Japan

Because of the existence of network externalities between the two-side users in two-sided market, the built and expansion of installed user-base is a difficult problem for the platform. The E-money industry of Japan supplies some referential strategies for solving this difficulty, such as the correct route of installing the user base and strategy of collaboration, which includes utilizing the same technology standard and keeping compatible and interconnect with other network.
