A Performative User Interface for the Control of Responsive Character
Performance animation is becoming an appealing solution for character control. With the development of lightweight computing devices, lowcost and portable user interface is required and preferable in entertainment This paper proposes a performative user interface that allows the user to control the character using his or her body. This interface only employs two IR cameras and a few IR leds, which will be used to track and estimate the positions. And positions can be used to synthesize the puppetrys final pose using an improved geostatistical interpolation model. The cost of computation of this model is inexpensive and it utilizes only a few motion samples and achieves some generality beyond the motion database.
