Renovating Distributed Applications to Leverage Business Benefits of Cloud Computing
There has been a paradigm shift in computing during the last fifty years from static powerful mainframes to cloud computing through network, internet and grids. This paradigm shift in computing has initiated overall change in transforming information technology services and modernization and its ramifications are felt across people, process, and business verticals. Focus is changing towards transferring the nuisance of platform/infrastructure maintenance outside and utilizing the time more effectively for improving core business proposition. In this paper we would highlight the existing popular models for a typical distributed application and analyze the fitment towards cloud computing. We would also advocate and investigate value proposition of cloud computing by performing a feasibility study of migrating in-house distributed computing facilities on to cloud.
