Effect of Ti on Microstructure and Properties of Al-Mg2Si Alloys Subjected to Electromagnetic Stirring

In order to improve the mechanical properties of Al-Mg2Si alloy, this paper is by adding the alloying element Ti to modify the microstructure of Al-Mg2Si alloy. The experimental results show that the microstructure of the AlMg2Si alloys subjected to electromagnetic stirring can be significantly refined and the mechanical properties of the alloy get improved due to the addition of Ti. It is found that the best modification effect can be achieved when the adding amount of Ti is O. 5% and the holding time is about 20 minutes, and the mechanical properties of the Al-Mg2Si alloys get markedly enhanced.
