Effect of Twin Roll Casting on Microstructure and Performance of 5052 Aluminum Alloy Plate
The roll casting technology of 5000 series aluminum alloy is one of the difficulties at present. Roll casting technology was employed in this paper and high quality 5052 aluminum alloy strips were fabricated successfully under different conditions. Microstructures of 5052 aluminum alloy in two-phase region. deformation zone and formed strip zone have been investigated. Microstructure development rule has been revealed. Microstructures and mechanical properties of 5052 aluminum alloy obtAlned under different conditions have been analyzed. The good condition for roll casting of 5052 aluminum alloy has been found. Some measures were taken for improving the quality of 5052 aluminum alloy strip obtAlned by roll casting which contribute much to the industrial production of 5052 aluminum alloy.
