Preparation of the Bimetallic 7075/6009 Aluminum Composite Ingots with Gradient Interface by Continuous Casting

The bimetallic composite ingots named the 7075/6lff) aluminum alloys were prepared using double-streampouring continuous casting (DSPCC) technology. The relationship between the outer layer thickness of the composite ingots and the casting parameters was analyzed based on the heat transfer in the solidification zone during DSPCC processing. The results show that the thickness of the outside layer of the composite ingots can be controlled by adjusting the depth of the submerged entry nozzle in the mould. casting speed. pouring temperature of melts and ingot diameter. The calculated results of the outer layer thickness based on the derived experiential formula are in accordance with the experimental measurements.
