Solidification Structure and Tempering Characteristics of High Vanadium and High Chromium White Cast Iron ContAlning Nickel

The solidification structure of high vanadium(9wt% )and high chromium(1Owt%)white cast iron contAlning nickel is martensite and retAlned austenite matrix, spherical carbide VC and eutectic carbide M7C3. The adding nickel(O.8% -1. 2%) has been guaranteed that the as-cast structure of the matrix of the white cast iron is martensite and retAlned austenite. The highest hardness(HRC64)can be obtAlned by second hardening during the tempering at high temperature (560℃) ,and the vigorous oxidation phenomenon during the quenching at high temperature(>900℃)can be avoided ,which becomes a kind of applied wear resistance material. The wear resistance of high vanadium and high chromium white cast iron contAlning nickel is 5 times that of high chromium white cast iron with 20%Cr by the quenching and tempering. The stability of the austenite matrix of Fe-Cr-V - Ni - Si - C system alloys is examined by the acquired interatomic potentials functions.
