Automatic Intelligent Casting Process Design Coupled Numerical Simulation with Artificial Intelligence
The goal of the research focuses on automatic intelligent casting process design technology. Namely, satisfied casting process scheme will be designed automatically without any manual acting completely. In this paper,a new framework is set up coupled numerical simulation(CAE) with artificial intelligence (Al) to realize the goal. In detAll, casting process is optimized by artificial intelligence and evaluated by numerical simulation respectively. Some key techniques are developed such as automatic simulation, quantitative casting defect prediction, artificial intelligent optimization, automatic 3D geometry modeling, data transfer between CAE and CAD and so on. Among them, quantitative casting defect prediction and artificial intelligent optimization are the footstones. Accurate quantitative casting defect prediction provides the precondition for the optimization, and reliable optimization ensures the performance of casting process design. Therefore, quantitative shrinkage defect is predicted based on dynamic feeding analysis technology, Alr entrapment and slag inclusion are forecasted quantitatively by multi - phase fluid field simulation technology. Finally,as a testing object, the riser system of a simple steel casting is designed by the technology automatically. The casting is poured and the result proves the new technology can be used to optimize the foundry process with high efficiency. It also shows the bright future of the new technology.
