Trends in Automotive Serial Casting-The Novel HE SYSTEMS: High Efficient Cold Box Binders for Process and Cost Optimization
The Cold Box process has recently celebrated its 40th birthday. During the last four decades it developed in Europe into the core making process par excellence. The popularity of the process and-above all- the option of producing complex core geometries with a high degree of productivity have lead to market shares exceeding 60％. The relatively long life cycle of the Cold Box method as compared to other industrial processes is the proof for the successful work of R&D staff to fulfil the growing demands with specific modifications of the binder systems.
