Reduce Production Costs of Die Casting Production with a Compensation Method
A new approach to lower the production costs of die casting has recently been studied. This approach utilizes mutually compensating relationships for the parameters of die casting equipment, tooling system, and production settings to optimize production for a special job. This method separates production factors by the cost of adjustment, and tries to lower production costs by adjusting the parameters which can be changed by lowering adjust-cost to compensate for a drift of the parameters which is of higher-cost to adjust. Analysis shows that this new method will reduce production cost. Compared with the former study 1, this study not only deals with process parameters but also equipment and mold character. Therefore, this new method will achieve further cost reduction than the old method.
