The Effect of Steady Magnetic Field on the Distribution of MAln Components and the Solidification Microstructure of Steel
The effect of the steady magnetic field on the molten carbon steel has been systemically studied by varying its intensity. It is found that with the treatment of steady magnetic field, the crystal particles were refined, and the best refinement effect was achieved at intensity of 0.47T. This phenomenon was explAlned based on the thermodynamic and kinetic properties. Furthermore, the distribution and segregation of the elements (C, Si, and Mn) in the solidification process of molten steel are analyzed by OPA (Original Position Analysis) technology, and the results indicate that these elements exhibit the similar feature at the steady magnetic field. The corresponding mechanism is well discussed.
