Simulation of Temperature Field of V-Shaped Casting Produced by 2A12 Aluminium Alloy during Casting

2A12 is the typical duralumin alloy in the aluminum-cop per-magnesium alloy system, which is widely used in the aviation industry. Because of its good overall performance 2A12 duralumin alloy is the biggest amount used in the duralumin alloy system, which can be the components which each kind of request shoulders high, such as Alrplanes skeleton components, the outer covering, as well as the wing rib, the rivet. The alloy may carryon casting, forging and heat treating. The casting have a heavy effection on the performance. It is important to understand the mechanism of the casting process. The temperature fields of V-shaped casting produce by 2A12 Aluminium alloy during casting was simulated by finite element method on the base of ANSYS. The temperature fields distribution in different conditions were obtAlned and compared with the experimental results. Results showed that it can optimize the foundry technique, forecast and control the casting quality and remove the casting defects, as well as the enhancement production efficiency. Under the experimental condition the optimum casting temperature is 700K, the optimum preheat temperature of the sand mold is 350K.The conductivity of the sand mold effects the cool rate of the casting and the optimum conductivity of the sand mold is 8 WI (m·K).
