The Auto-fast Determining Instrument and Its Method of the Effective Bentonite Content Based on Image Recognition Technology

It is basic to determine the effective bentonite content in clay used sand fast and accurately for making correct mixing ratio and process of clay mould sand, and it also plays an important role on obtAlning high-performance mould sand. The existing test method of effective bentonite content is usually manual operation, and the effective bentonite content is determined by testing the ethylene blue absorbed in clay used sand. This method bears some disadvantages including complicated process, long testing-time and low accuracy. Follow the traditional determine method principle, the authors construct a auto-fast determining instrument of the effective bentonite content in used clay sand based on image recognition technology. The instrument consists of auto stirring part, auto removing liquid part, auto titration part, steprotation part, image acquisition part and processor. The image recognition method used in the instrument applies the photosensitive degree difference of the light blue and dark blue in three-channel of red, green and blue, first decompose the color images into three-channel gray images, then make gray value subtraction operation and gray level transformation of the gray images, finally extract the outer circle light blue halo and the inner circle blue spot and calculate their area ratio, to judge the titration process reach the end-point while the area ratio higher than setting value.
