Structural and electrical characterisation of electrospun PAN-derived carbon nanofibres
Introduction Equipped with their unique features like robust mechanical properties, low chemical reactivity, high aspect ratio etc. Electrospun carbon and, their more ordered version, graphite fibers (CF and GF, respectively) find applications like filters for separating small particles from gas or liquid, support for high temperature catalysts, heat management materials in aircraft, semiconductor devices, electrode material for super capacitor etc 1-3. The utility of polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based carbon nanofibers prepared by electrospinning technique has demonstrated the prospect of its application in electrical storage system 2.
