A hybrid approach to predict overall properties of nanocomposites
A new method is proposed to include characteristics of the fillers in overall properties of heterogeneous media. According to this hybrid approach. the effective properties of a complex media can be found using the results obtained from simple composites. Mori-Taaaka (M-T) method is used to establish the proposed approach. The effective elastic constants of a piezoelectric nanocomposite are studied using this new hybrid approach by combining analytical-analytical and analyticalnumerical methods. To perform numerical analysis. repeating representative volume element (RRVE) with periodic boundary conditions is employed. The results obtained using the new method are compared to those evaluated using another implementation of M-T approach proposed in the literature.
