Oxygen enriched mesoporous carbon for electrochemical capacitor applicatoin

INTRODUCTION In electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs), mostly based on activated carbons 1 and considering that only the charging of the double-layer is involved. It should be expected that the higher the specific surface area of an activated carbon is, the higher the capacitance. However, it has been demonstrated that very narrow microspores do not contribute to the total double layer capacitance because of a molecular sieving effect 2.
