An in-situ nanocrystalline TiNi SMA composite with high strength and tension elongation
INTRODUCTION Recently, nanocrystalline metals have been extensively studied for high strength, but the application is limited due to lower tension elongation 1. In this paper, an in-situ nanocrystalline TiNi shape memory alloy (SMA) composite was obtained. In the composite, grain size of nanocrystalline TiNi distribution is relatively narrow, and average grain size is no more than 25nm.This nanocrystalline composite possesses not only high strength but also large tension elongation.
