Bending-induced cracks in ITO/PET sheet with various ITO thickness.

INTRODUCTION With the advance of the high information age, Flexible display is getting the spotlight as a new means in the display field. Because Flexible display for the next generation is easy to carry, it enables us to watch something people wanted at anytime, and anywhere. Also, LowEnergy-Consuming, thin, and flexble display technique has many other merits. ITO/PET is a kind of TCO frequently used in material of flat panel display. The bonding between the ITO coating and the substrate need to be superior in quality since it should function flawlessly in either bending or stooping. And It should not malfunction with bending, tensile and compression. Bending test was implemented in the study to examine the effect of bending on the crack initiation and propagation of ITO thin film The cracking behavior is thought to be dependent on the interfacial adhesion strength and the film thickness and the effect of the ITO film thickness is also discussed.
