Crack initiation and propagation behaviors of ITO thin film (135 run) in ITO/PET sheet
INTRODUCTION One of the most used transparent conducting oxide materials is ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) with more than 85% transmittance in visible area and over specific resistance of 1.1X10-4Ω·cm. Transparent and conductive ITO have been widely used as transparent electrodes of solar cells, touch panels and liquid crystal displays 1, 2. Substrates for flexible displays are multilayer composite structures comprising a polymer-based substrate on which functional thin film is deposited. These thin films are transparent conducting oxides, a polymer-based substrate is lighter than a glass-based substrate and easier for processing. The adhesive strength between thin film coating and plastic substrate should be excellent for durability against the tension, bending and compression.
