Genome-scale metabolic network analysis of the opportunistic pathogen Burkholderia cenocepacia J2315
Burkholderia cenocepacia is an emerging gramnegative opportunistic pathogen that commonly infects patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) and immunocompromised individuals. This bacterium is notorious for its high levels of antibiotic resistance, yet the mechanisms of host infection and drug resistance remain mostly unknown. The genome of B. cenocepacia J2315 has been sequenced and recently annotated. The 8.06-Mb genome is equipped with versatile metabolic capabilities and multi virulence traits that allow it to survive under a variety of conditions and invade impaired host cells. A systematically understanding of the metabolism of B.
