Identification of disease domains underlying human genetic diseases: A Bayesian regression approach
Introduction The identification of genetic risk factors underlying human inherited diseases represents one of the major research directions in human genetics studies, and has harvested plenty of concerns and explorations on the problem of identifying genes and their products that are responsible for specific diseases. Domains are structural units of proteins that often form functions, and thus exploring associations between protein domains and human inherited diseases will greatly improve our understanding of the pathogenesis of human complex diseases and further benefit the medical prevention, diagnosis and treatment of these diseases.
