TOWARDS THE MEASUREMENT OVER A CAMPUS NETWORK
Internets continual and rapid evolvement in scope and complexity impedes our understanding on it. Considering the data variety caused by user behaviors, and locations of geography or the Internet, studying own trace is an effective method of learning the Internet. To this end, we have conducted traffic measurements at our campus, and study the captured traces. Several analysis results are presented afterwards, including the emergence of the IPv6 traffic, the trends of the UDP usage, and the traffic comparison with other traces by a mixed traffic classification approach. Finally, some related issues of measurement and data sharing are discussed and summarized for contributing some insights to other research groups for a better understanding of the global Internet.
