EFFECT OF HERBAL RU YUAN KANG ON PATHOGENIC BACTERIA ASSOCIATED WITH MASTITIS IN DAIRY COWS
In this paper 36 cows with clinical mastitis were treated with the Chinese herb injection Ru Yuan Kang which was developed by the authors. Milk samples of dairy cows with pre- and post- treatment of Ru Yuan Kang were collected for isolation and characterization of pathogenic bacteria. The dynamic changes of pathogenic bacteria were investigated as well. The results indicated that Ru Yuan Kang inhibited effectively the common pathogenic bacteria of mastitis. After the herbal treatment, 71.74% pathogenic bacteria associated with mastitis in dairy cows were eliminated.
