Simulation Research of Paper-making Process Using Model Reference Adaptive Smith Predictor

The papermaking process has principle of large lag time, multivariable, strong coupling properties. In order to solve these three problems at the same time ,select the Smith predictor combine with model reference adaptive control algorithm. Through estabilsh the structure of control system , desgin the control algrithm and the adaptive modulation principle to achieve the gain and lag time self-tuning on-line, the MRA-Smith predictive controller reduced the systems transition period, improved control system performance. The simulation results indicated that the MRA-Smith predictor has strong stability, immunity, adaptivity, the decoupling and robustness to the multivariable coupled system.
