ON ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (EIA) OF TECHNOLOGY

Technology has caused enormous damage on humans living environment while benefiting human beings. Thus it is necessary to expand the scope of environmental impact assessment (EIA)to technology to reduce or eliminate its negative impacts on the environment The uncertainty of technologys environmental impact makes it difficult to conduct environmental impact assessment The system of technologys EIA consists of initial assessment, indepth assessment and re-assessment EIA methods include comparative assessment method of alternative technologies, technologys green factor classification assessment method and life cycle assessment method.
