An Empirical Study of the Effects of Innovation Networks on Technological Innovation Performance of Cluster Enterprises
As a network platform for innovation, industrial cluster is the inexhaustible driving force for technological innovation of enterprises. Its importance has been generally recognized by theoretical and practical fields. Based on literature review, this paper analyzes the effects of structural characteristics and relationship characteristics of innovation networks on technological innovation of cluster enterprises, and empirically tests hypotheses using the collecting data from industrial clusters of Zhejiang province. Results of the multiple linear regression analysis show that network centrality, relationship type, relationship intensity, relationship stability and relationship quality have significant positive effects on innovation performance of cluster enterprises. The effects of network size and network heterogeneity on the innovation performance of cluster enterprises are not significant. Related management implications are discussed based on empirical conclusions in the end.
