A new method of lithological inversion
In order to make better use of seismic data for reservoir characterization and oilfield development, it is very important and very meaningful to make full use of geological and logging information to implement lithology and oil-gas possibility inversion (lithological or geological inversion) after the mathematical physical inversion. The main purpose of lithological inversion is to get the lithology profile which is closely related to oil and gas such as reservoir porosity, sand content, clay content and so on. In order to achieve this, it is to convert the geophysical parameters of seismic inversion into reservoir physical parameters by using density, velocity, wave impedance and so on. This is a basic research aspect of the seismic exploration. In order to avoid the multi-resolution and uncertainty of post-stack inversion, this paper introduced a new method to inverse porosity and clay content by means of P-impedance and S-impedance. This paper discusses the principle of this method and the implementation process, and gives an application example.
