Application of crosshole electromagnetic wave computerized tomography in the investigation of underground caves on residential areas

Crosshole electromagnetic wave CT technology has many characteristics, such as high resolution, easy implementing, less affected by electromagnetic interference on the ground than other electromagnetic methods. In allusion to the environmental geological problem of cracks on residential houses in the mining area, this paper gives an investigation case, which use cross-hole electromagnetic wave computerized tomography on the survey of underground caves. It introduces the principle of crosshole electromagnetic CT technology, fieldwork techniques, data processing, section CT features and geological analysis, and integrates the results of engineering drilling borehole to find out the distribution of caves. This work gives a reasonable assessment for the ground stability on the area, and it also provides the necessary basis to bring geological disasters under control in the future.
