Influence of the source shift in marine controlled-source electromagnetic
Incentives in the energy demand, the marine controlled-source electromagnetic method has been developing rapidly in the past few years. While marine controlled-source electromagnetic data collection, the transmitter dipole source is dragged behind the prospect ship in seawater. The sea waves and undercurrents may make the source position departure its design position, and so inevitably influence the observation.By modeling the mCSEM response of marine 1D model, analysing the responses of different depths and different diatances lateral shift of source dipole, the results show that the Ex amplitude and phase of mCSEM responds are little impacted by a shift less than 50m ,no matter the shift along depth or along lateral. The lateral shift of dipole source influences the observations in the small offset scope, but the observations in large offset scope has almost no impact.
