Complex terrain effect and studying on 2.5-D TEM
In view of the existing situation of low level of the 1 dimension(1-D) interpretation of the Transient Electromagnetic(TEM) in nowadays field work. But as TEM is used widely in Geo-exploration, topography problems become hot issue obviously in room interpretation. We found that complex terrain causes artifactitious electromagnetic(EM) field great effect and noises,it will give us some indeterminate results in interpretation work. So this paper, basing on studies of some scholars, deduced the total field formulas of the 2.5 dimension(2.5-D) finite difference method (FDM) from the EM equations, transformed EM fields from frequency domain to time domain using Guptasarma algorithm, and modeled abnormal EM field of 2.5-D TEM using FDM under the condition of steps terrain for the central loop array, and contrasted distortion of EM field components between some horizontal and uneven terrains,and seeked to look for the change laws about secondary abnormal EM field. Lastly,this paper put forward some valuable conclusions and advices for TEM practice work.
