Capacitively-coupled resistivity methods and its application in near-surface geophysical prospecting

The OhmMapper is a capacitively-coupled resistivity system of the new generation of instruments, with the characteristic of un-grounding, continuous surveying, and affluent data etc. The way of measurement of the CCR is similar to the dipole-dipole of DC-resistivity method. And the collected data from field can be used to DC inversion software which is the currently mature. This paper presents two practical examples of this method in several known areas, which are Near-surface geophysical prospecting: One is to survey underground pipelines under the cement road by the way of profile surveying.we successfully delineated locationof water pipes and drainage pipes. The other is to prospect the structure broken belt of the thermal region by profile sounding at shallow subsurface. Equally Wo successfully completed this task. Be concluded that CCR is an effective method used in Near-surface geophysical prospecting, and it is much faster, more efficient and convenient, compared with the conventional DC-resistivity method.
