Simulation of GPR in multi-scale heterogeneity medium by overlapping Yee FDTD method
GPR is widely used in neasurface detection. But the response from complex heterogeneity medium with multiscale is still need to understand. We applied the numerical algorithm of the Overlapping Yee FDTD (OY) method to GPR simulations. Our numerical results show that the OY method overcomes the staircasing problem by using irregular mesh and is more accurate, more efficient, in comparison to the standard FDTD method. Also the OY method overcomes the late-time instability problem of other nonorthogonal FDTD algorithms and also overcome the staircase problems in standard FDTD. The simulation shows that GPR responses of multiscale medium can be simulated with high quality data and efficient in calculation.
