The research of geo-browser for spatial information applications
With the continuous development of Digital Earth, spatial information technology is beginning to serve the people instead of researches in laboratories, and the Geo- browser/Spatial information server (G/S) model come into being and forming a series of the Geo-browser such as Google Earth, which is representative. The purpose of G/S model is providing the spatial information service. By means of Geo-browser and Web browsers comparison, this article comprehensively analyses the characteristics of Geo-browser and spatial information supports, then points out the methods of developing and existing applications. This article hopes to provide some enlightenment for the popular application of spatial information in future and make some recommendations for development of Geo-browser.
