Application of geophysical methods to the fault detection in Han-Wang, Mianzhu
The earthquake with Ms8.0 that shocked the world devastated in Sichuan Province of China at 14:28 Beijing time on May 12,2008. That caused so serious destruction and so great loss. However, it is the important reason of the earthquakes occurrence and serious damage is that the fault. Therefore, there is very important significance for detection and research of the fault.Geophysical method has played an important role in detecting the fault, which typically contain gravity methods, electrical and shallow seismic reflection and so on. The paper provides geophysical basis for studying the nature of the Wenchuan macroquake? And the reference for fault activity research in Longmen Mountain fault zone and hazard analysis of its surrounding cities, by field geophysical study in the Han-wang Mianzhu of Sichuan and understanding the shallow morphological characteristics of the active faults of former Mountain snapbreak.
