The application of SMS & web technology in landslide hazard monitoring and forecast system

One landslide hazard monitoring and warning system, which is based on advanced communications and computer technologies, was established to reduce or eliminate the impact of geological hazards. This system can transmit the monitoring data to the monitoring center via SMS (Short Message Service) through GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network. Then the monitoring center will accomplish the process of monitoring data contained process, storage, display, alarm and so on. Finally, the system builds a remote Web data service publishing platform through the Browser/Server (B/S) mode to achieve the function that can monitor the state of landslide remotely in any place from where the internet can be received. Thus it enhances the rapidity, efficiency and intuitiveness of landslide disaster warning. And compared to traditional manual on-site monitoring, this system is fast, efficiency and intuitive. The landslide monitoring system has some character with stable, accurate, high speed transmission and accuracy after applied in Panzhihua.
