Ecological environment sustainable development evaluation for river basins: methodology and modeling

Taking main river basins of Linzhi and Changdu area of Tibet as the research regions, this paper investigated application of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on capability of sustainable development evaluation of regional ecological environment, established a corresponding evaluation index system, and on the basis of this, constructed mathematical model and method for evaluation by using Matlab software, so as to calculate comprehensive score of evaluation on capability of sustainable development for population, economy, society and nature resources and so on four kinds within the river basins. Based on the ArcGIS Server and ASP.NET development, the evaluation model and GIS software component can form an interoperation system, which provides decision support for the complicated problems such as regional ecological environment protection and development and utilization of natural resources.
