The Analysis on Drivers Visual Perception Affected by Blocking Vehicles Taillights

The number of chevrons that is in sight at one time will affect drivers perception accuracy of road curvature. By the experiment of sight blockage, this paper studies the influence of outer-lane blocking vehicles taillight, on the drivers perception accuracy of road curvature. The experiment takes advantage of Zwahlen and Parks monocular viewing experiment. Under the condition of vehicles blocking inside drivers sight, this paper analyses the space distributing type of the chevrons and blocking vehicle on the testing curves, and it performs an experiment of different types by random sequence. The experiment results and comparing analysis between sight blocked and unblocked indicate that, the trucks taillight has beneficial effects on blocked drivers accurate perception of the curve, but the effect is less than chevron.
